Tesla Model Y charge-port button does not open from the home wallbox
One of the methods for opening the charging port flap on the Tesla Model Y depends on your wallbox. You can open the flap using a button on the charging cable connected to the wallbox, when it's close to the compartment. On some older Tesla charging devices, even pressing the button on the charging cable may not open the flap. In this case, use one of the available alternatives. There are at least three other opening methods for the Tesla Model Y. Generally, however, this system of opening from the button on the connector only works if the car's lock is unlocked. To isolate the problem, you can try opening it using the other methods provided, such as the in-car center display, the app, or voice commands. However, we recommend trying another wallbox like yours and seeing if the opening mechanism works. In this case, there may be some limiting settings in the charger that you should remove or change. In the best-case scenario, a future software update may be the solution.
