The 23.4 kWh usable lithium-ion battery delivers a WLTP electric range of up to 130 km (81 miles), one of the longest in its class, so the average daily commute fits comfortably inside a single charge with the petrol engine held in reserve. AC charging runs through an 11 kW three-phase onboard charger via a Type 2 socket in the left rear quarter panel.

UK home charging is predominantly single-phase, and the most common home wallbox installation delivers 7.4 kW at 32A. The GLC 300e's onboard charger accepts whatever supply it receives, which means the cable is what decides the real charging speed.
