Collection: Mercedes E 300 e Charging cable

The Mercedes-Benz E 300e is the executive plug-in hybrid at the heart of the W214 E-Class range, available in Saloon and S214 Estate body styles, and uniquely among the W214 PHEVs offered in rear-wheel drive as well as with 4MATIC all-wheel drive. A 2.0-litre turbocharged M254 petrol engine and a 95 kW permanent-magnet electric motor combine for 230 kW (313 PS) and 550 Nm of torque. The RWD Saloon covers 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, the 4MATIC in 6.5 seconds. The 25.4 kWh battery (19.5 kWh usable) delivers up to 117 km of WLTP electric range on the RWD Saloon and up to 110 km on the 4MATIC, with electric-only running possible to 140 km/h. The onboard AC charger is 11 kW three-phase or 7.4 kW single-phase, and a 55 kW DC option is available. The Type 2 port sits on the left rear flank on all body styles.

The right cable for a UK driveway

British homes are wired for single-phase, so most driveway wallboxes deliver up to 7.4 kW at 32A. The E 300e's onboard charger matches that ceiling: connected to a single-phase wallbox it pulls the full 32A and reaches 7.4 kW, filling the 19.5 kWh usable battery from empty in around three hours. On any three-phase Type 2 post away from home (destination chargers at hotels, supermarkets, and many public AC installations), the car steps up to 11 kW and completes the same charge in around two hours.

A 22 kW Voldt® Type 2 cable is the sensible UK match. Its 32A-per-phase conductors carry the full single-phase current from your home wallbox and let the car draw its 7.4 kW maximum. On a public three-phase post the same cable adapts and passes 11 kW straight through. An 11 kW cable will still work, but its 16A-per-phase conductors bottleneck a single-phase session to 3.7 kW, roughly doubling the home charge time. If a future 22 kW AC vehicle joins the household, the 22 kW cable covers both without a second purchase.

The port is on the left rear flank on the Saloon and the Estate, so reversing onto the driveway is the natural approach at home: the cable stays short and off the paintwork. A 6-metre lead handles most home installations. An 8-metre lead adds margin for public bays where the post is set back or the vehicle bay orientation runs the wrong way. 10 and 15-metre versions are available for longer garden runs, shared parking with mixed bay layouts, or workplace posts sited further from the parking area.

When there's no wallbox

Voldt® portable cables cover the situations a driveway wallbox doesn't reach: industrial three-phase outlets, campsite hookups, and standard three-pin sockets at home or on the road.

At a red 16A three-phase CEE outlet (common at workshops, holiday parks, agricultural buildings, and some older commercial premises), the Voldt® 11 kW portable charger delivers 11 kW directly to the car and completes a full charge in around two hours, matching a fixed three-phase installation.

At a blue 16A single-phase CEE socket (the standard fitting on UK caravan sites and campsite hookup pillars), the Voldt® blue CEE portable delivers 3.7 kW and completes a full charge in around five and a half hours. That fits a night at a holiday park or a long lunch break with the plug in place from arrival.

At a standard UK three-pin outlet, the Voldt® three-pin granny charger draws up to 2.8 kW within the limits of your ring main and socket condition, refilling the battery in approximately seven hours. A built-in thermal sensor monitors the connection temperature and eases the current back automatically if the plug or socket begins to warm, so overnight charging in a hotel car park, at a country cottage, or at a relative's house stays safe without an installed wallbox.

Built to last, not to a price

Voldt® charging cables carry CE, UKCA and TÜV certification. Both connectors are moulded as single pieces without glue or mechanical fasteners, so repeated plugging and unplugging doesn't loosen anything over time. The IP67 housing is tested from -30°C to +50°C. Conductors are 100% copper with silver-plated contacts, and every cable is rated beyond 10,000 connection cycles. All Voldt® cables ship with a three-year warranty, 100-day returns, and free delivery across Europe.
