Tesla charge-port light turns red during home charging
Tesla home charging session starts or attempts to start, but the charging port light indicates an error. This makes the problem seem serious, but it may not be. Before assuming the worst, the most logical solution is to try another charger and read any error messages associated with the red light. As an alternative, we recommend checking the cable, as this could be the cause. If it's damaged or inadequate, a quality, compatible Tesla Voldt charging cable may be the solution. Also check the options in the settings menu, as there may be active limitations that are generating an error. Always write down the error messages precisely and share them with support so they can help you resolve the issue faster and more safely. A necessary clarification: a charging interruption or a red light can be a symptom of multiple problems. Sometimes they are related to the meter and the electrical system. Make sure the meter is in perfect working order and can handle the current load required to charge the car.
